On June 21, National Aboriginal Day, Impakt launched Canada’s first loan fund that is designated for Indigenous women in Alberta. The urgent need for this fund has been documented in a new Impakt report that we are happy to share with you中国福利彩票注册: Creating a New Narrative: Empowering Indigenous Women Through Entrepreneurship. The research study was made possible by Indian Business Corporation and Business Development Bank of Canada.
The $5 million fund is changing the narrative for Indigenous women and will be based in Alberta. The first Indigenous women loan recipients have already been selected and will be announced June 21. IBC’s new loan fund will make it possible for approximately 75 Indigenous women in Alberta to become entrepreneurs over the next five years. By achieving financial independence and stability, these women will be able to improve their lives, enhance the well being of their families and communities and benefit the Canadian landscape in ways that would not otherwise be possible.
